Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic brow technique that uses ultra-fine strokes to mimic the appearance of natural eyebrow hairs.

Nano microshading—also known as powder brows—uses a permanent makeup device with a fine nano needle to deposit tiny pixels of pigment into the skin. This creates a soft gradient or powder effect similar to professionally applied brow makeup.

Our Natural 3D Brows combine hair-stroke detailing with soft shading to create dimension, fullness, and definition while maintaining a natural appearance.

Your brow artist customizes the balance of strokes and shading based on your existing eyebrow hair, facial structure, skin characteristics, and desired result.

This combination is especially helpful for clients who want the realistic appearance of individual brow hairs with additional fullness and definition.

What Happens During Your Brow Appointment?

1. Brow Consultation

We discuss your desired shape, fullness, color, and overall look.

2. Custom Brow Mapping

Your eyebrows are carefully mapped and drawn so you can review the proposed shape before pigment application begins.

3. Color Selection

Pigment is selected to complement your natural eyebrow hair, skin tone, and desired result.

4. Comfort Preparation

A topical numbing product is applied to help make the treatment more comfortable.

5. Brow Treatment

Your artist performs microblading, nano shading, or a customized combination based on the treatment selected.

6. Healing & Touch-Up

As the brows heal, the pigment naturally softens. A touch-up is typically recommended after the initial healing period to refine areas where pigment retention may vary.

The current Luminance service generally takes 2–3 hours, with much of that time devoted to consultation, color selection, and brow design.

How Long Does Microblading Last?

Microblading and nano brows are semi-permanent, not permanent tattoos.

Results gradually fade as the skin renews and pigment changes over time. Luminance currently advises that results may last up to approximately two years, although longevity varies considerably based on skin type, sun exposure, skincare products, lifestyle, pigment retention, and other individual factors. Oily skin may experience faster fading. 

Periodic touch-ups may be recommended to maintain your preferred shape and color.

Before Your Microblading or Nano Brow Appointment

Proper preparation can help support better healing and pigment retention. Your provider will give you personalized instructions before treatment.

Luminance's current pre-treatment guidance includes avoiding tanning or significant sun exposure, retinoid products around the treatment area, and waxing/threading/plucking shortly before treatment. The clinic also currently advises avoiding certain aesthetic treatments near the brow area before your appointment.

Important: Do not independently discontinue prescribed medications or medically necessary blood thinners for a cosmetic procedure. If you take anticoagulants, aspirin, or other medications that may affect bleeding, discuss them with the prescribing clinician and your Luminance provider before treatment.

 

Microblading or microshading may not be appropriate for everyone. Please inform us about pregnancy or breastfeeding, medications, allergies, skin conditions, previous permanent makeup, or recent aesthetic procedures when scheduling.

 

Microblading Aftercare

Your new brows will go through a normal healing process. They may initially appear darker or more defined before gradually softening.

For the best healing and pigment retention:

• Follow the aftercare instructions provided by your brow artist.

• Keep the treated area clean as directed.

• Avoid picking, scratching, or peeling flaking skin.

• Avoid excessive sweating, swimming, saunas, and prolonged moisture while the brows heal.

• Protect the area from excessive sun exposure.

• Avoid retinoids, exfoliating acids, chemical peels, IPL, and laser treatments directly over the healing area until cleared by your provider.

Your individual aftercare instructions should take priority over general online recommendations.
