What are the PDO threads?

PDO (polydioxanone), which is a clinically proven, biocompatible and bioabsorbable material that is widely used in medical suturing. the effects of polydioxanone (PDO) threads can last between 6 to 12 months. With the threads complete dissolved and absorbed by the by skin after 6 months, it helps to stimulate the production and synthesis of collagen in the skin for up to 12 months.

What are the PCL threads?

PCL (polucaprolactone) threads: the chemical bonds and structure of PCL are stronger and more complex, hence it takes a much longer time to be dissolved completely. The slower rate of degradation of the PCL threads also makes it ideal to be inserted to the surrounding tissues over an extended time; achieving a longer lasting result, usually can last more than 2 years.

What Areas Can I Treat Using Thread Lift?

Common areas usually treated with thread lift include the brows, eyes, corner of mouth, cheeks, nose bridge, nasolabial folds (laugh lines), upper lip, Jaw line and neck, chest, buttocks, and thigh.

How is PDO/PCL Thread Lift procedure taking place?

After diagnosing the condition, our Medical Doctor will determine the types, number, and position of the thread placement that will be required to achieve the desired result. A local anesthetic will be administered to the skin. The PDO/PCL thread is inserted using a disposable needle or cannula, which should be completely painless. The procedure takes approximately 45-60 minutes, depending on the area to be treated. Minimal downtime.

When are the results with PDO/PCL collagen threads expected?

An improvement may be observed immediately after treatment, with a visible lifting effect in the treated areas. This will improve over a period of 2-6 months as new collagen is produced between the threads, thereby exerting further lifting and tightening to the skin.

How long do the results usually last?

It depends on age, genetics, lifestyle, smoking habits, skin type, amount of collagenase in the skin: average of 12 months (6-18 months) with PDO threads, 24 months or more with PCL threads.

What can I expect after the treatment?

Immediately after the treatment, the area will still be numb for several hours, and you should not eat, drink, or manipulate the treatment area until you regain sensation. The treatment may be red, swollen, or bruised. Do not schedule any major events on the day of, or for two weeks following the treatment, to allow any bruising or swelling to subside.

After the anesthetic wears off there may be some transient pain and discomfort, especially a tight pulling feeling if you have had a lifting procedure. These feelings usually ease within a week. You should follow a soft diet and limit the degree of mouth opening until the feelings of discomfort have passed.
